A century ago Baden's rustic youth hostel was in fact a stable complex and it has lost none of its charm. In fact, it is ideal for exploring the spa town and its 19 thermal springs. The Hostel is close to the town centre, near the Aue sports complex on the banks of the Limmat river. This makes it the perfect starting point for sports enthusiasts as well as individual and group travellers. |

Only the bathing area and the play area are closer to the lake than the youth hostel. The former farmhouse was converted into a youth hostel as far back as 1931. A modern extension was added in 1977. It is this mix of the modern and the traditional which makes the architectural charm of this hostel. |

It is said that in the Battle of Sempach in 1386 Zofingen's Niklaus Thut swallowed the Zofingen banner to save it from the enemy. Today it is more a question of victories over oneself in the Powerman Duathlon, the major event held each year in the mediaeval, festively decorated town. And where to the world's best athletes prepare for the competition? That's right, at the youth hostel. |
